This is a two day course for new specification writers who have a basic understanding of the construction industry as well as experience in project design. The course can be tailored to client needs with regards to the type of work that is undertaken and the contractual documents that are commonly used. Course includes such things as:

• Project Manual development; and,
• Document co-ordination.

> Product Selection

This is a two day course for new specification writers who have a basic understanding of the construction industry as well as experience in project design. Course includes:

• Material research techniques;
• The role of reference standards in material selection;
• Material evaluation and comparisons; and,
• Incorporating manufacturer’s specification sections into the Project Manual.

Half-Day Courses

The following half-day courses are available:

• Project Manual Development
• Project Manual Co-ordination
• Comparison of Prescriptive to Performance Type Specifications
• Developing short form specifications

One and Two-hour Seminars

> Understanding the Specification Writer

This seminar is aimed at manufacturers and will give them a better understanding of the needs of the construction specification writer. It will show them how they can present their information in a way that makes the spec writer want to use it. The Seminar will take 1 to 2 hours and is free to manufacturers. (Travel costs may be applied depending upon location.)
